The Grill at LUXE sits in a boutique property among the rice fields about 1.4km from Ubud's Royal Palace. Part of the appeal is the arrival: guests can be collected by scooter and ridden along paddy paths to the restaurant.
Chef Agus Kartika's menu centres on Australian beef, served sliced with two sides and a sauce. The 250g Angus rib eye (MB3/4) is the entry point; the Wagyu rib eye (MB8/9) and the Kiwami Wagyu striploin (MB9+) are the indulgent choices. The surf and turf with lobster is popular for sharing, and wine suggestions are printed against each steak.
The Angus rib eye costs IDR 988,000 and the Wagyu cuts go well beyond that. Prices are high for Ubud, but the setting makes it a favourite for anniversaries and special dinners. Book a table before sunset for the rice-field views. Reservations by WhatsApp; the kitchen serves from breakfast with last seating at 9pm.
Hours and prices change, so please check with the restaurant before you go.
