Tucano's, named after the Brazilian bird, brought the rodízio format to Jakarta at the Pavilion on Jalan K.H. Mas Mansyur, just off Sudirman, and later added a second branch at Senayan City. The dining room is large and colourful, with tropical murals, and it handles birthday tables and office groups with ease.
The format is espeto corrido: waiters circulate with long skewers straight from the rotisserie grill and slice meat onto your plate until you signal them to stop. Beef cuts are the main draw, alongside other grilled meats, and a hot and cold buffet of salads, rice and sides is included. Pão de queijo cheese bread comes to the table. The kitchen has been led by Brazilian chefs, and the seasoning is kept close to southern Brazilian style.
Best for families and groups who want variety and volume rather than a single prime cut. Open daily from 11am to 10pm; private rooms available.
