ALTO occupies the 31st floor and rooftop of V Point in Causeway Bay, run by S&S Hospitality. A Tom Dixon-designed room of brass pendants, blue seating and big windows give it a glossy, after-work feel, and the rooftop bar is a draw at sunset.
The grill list covers USDA, Australian and wagyu beef. A 500g USDA ribeye is HK$498, a 400g Australian ribeye HK$538, a 225g USDA tenderloin HK$368 and a 300g wagyu striploin HK$438, with a New Zealand wagyu tri-tip served with banchan for two. An artisan beef tasting menu runs each evening, and the weekday lunch sets are good value for the area.
It suits date nights and drinks-led dinners on the east side of the island, where serious steakhouses are scarce. The venue also hosts weddings and private parties. Sister restaurants in the S&S group include Tango and the Braza churrascaria in Lan Kwai Fong.
