Fireside opened in Central's H Code building in 2020 and has climbed fast: it is ranked 18th in the World's 101 Best Steak Restaurants 2026, up from 50th the year before. The room, designed by M.R. Studio, is built around a custom Mibrasa grill and brick oven fuelled by wood and binchotan charcoal, with a chef's table, a balcony and a private room for eight.
Chef Jaime Ortolà's beef list is unusual for Hong Kong: El Capricho and Rubia Gallega from Spain, bone-in Hanwoo and Stone Axe wagyu, much of it aged in-house and cooked over embers. Start with the dry-aged beef tartare or oxtail sliders, then share a large bone-in cut with the smashed crispy potatoes. Steak Tuesdays offer a pre-ordered set for tables of four.
Expect to spend around HK$1,200 a head at dinner; weekday lunch and Saturday brunch are cheaper ways in. It suits celebrations and serious steak fans. There is also an online butcher shop for cooking at home.
