Sunset Grill occupies the 19th floor of the Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung, looking over Lantau, the airport and the South China Sea. An open kitchen with a charcoal grill and a dry-ageing display sits beside a long bar and an outdoor terrace, which fills up at sundown. Executive chef David Parkin, from northern England, sets the menu.
The grill section centres on 30-day dry-aged Australian Stockyard beef: a 900g porterhouse for two (HK$1,258) and an 850g T-bone. For one, the M4 Australian rib-eye (340g, HK$528) and USDA Prime striploin (HK$428) come with roast potatoes and a choice of green peppercorn, chimichurri, béarnaise or blue cheese sauce. M7 tomahawk and Saga A5 striploin cover the top end.
Worth the trip for airport-area hotel guests, Tung Chung residents and anyone heading to or from Lantau. Weekday set lunches start at HK$338, weekend brunch is HK$738, and a private room seats 16.
