Korean-American chef Akira Back runs AB Steak branches in Beverly Hills, London, San Francisco and Riyadh, and the Jakarta outlet sits on the ground floor of Senayan City mall. The design is dramatic, with sculpted timber ceilings and private dining rooms built around tabletop grills, and the attached AB Bar keeps going late.
The format is a Korean barbecue steakhouse: premium beef is grilled at the table by staff, with banchan-style sides and sauces. Glass ageing cabinets display the dry-aged cuts, and Japanese wagyu ribeye and striploin are the showpieces; raw beef dishes and truffle plates round out the menu, and AB Bar has its own cocktail list.
Good for groups who want the theatre of table grilling with a cocktail list to match. Opens daily for lunch and dinner until 1am, though only bar snacks are served after 10pm. Book through Chope.
