Bistecca

Bistecca is the steakhouse from the Union Group, the team behind several of Jakarta's busiest restaurants, with Italian chef Luca Pezzera behind the original menu. It draws on New York chophouses and Florentine trattorie in equal measure: dark wood, leather banquettes, a long bar and a separate lounge at 18 Parc Place in SCBD.

Steaks are charcoal-grilled. The bistecca alla Fiorentina, a thick T-bone carved for the table with lemon and rocket, is the house order, and dry-aged striploin is the solo option. Oversized shrimp cocktail, pasta and creamed sides fill out the menu, and the martini list gets as much attention as the wine.

Works for business lunches, dinners with friends and after-work drinks, with a private room available. Open daily from 11am to midnight. A second branch operates on the ground floor of PIK Avenue mall in North Jakarta.
