Les Bouchons began in Singapore in 2002 as a French steak-frites bistro, and its Kuala Lumpur outpost sits on the first floor of a building on Jalan Mayang, off Jalan Yap Kwan Seng and a short walk from KLCC. The room is classic Parisian bistro, with white tablecloths and a wine cellar.
The menu is short and French. Steak is the reason to come: the Angus entrecôte (RM118) is cooked to order, covered in the house sauce and served with a choice of hand-cut fries, roasted cauliflower or king oyster mushroom. Escargots and French onion soup are the usual starters, duck confit and seafood cover those not eating beef, and tiramisu closes the meal.
Suits date nights and anyone who prefers a straightforward steak frites to a long steakhouse menu. Pair it with a French red from the cellar. Google reviews are strong (4.7 from about 800). Confirm dinner hours when booking.
