Maria's SteakCafe started as a family restaurant in Ipoh in the late 1990s and now has three outlets across the Klang Valley. Its motto, 'Nothing fancy… simply good food', sums it up: a warm, unpretentious steak room rather than a white-tablecloth steakhouse.
The menu runs from grass-fed Australian beef to marbled wagyu, with US and Japanese options. The Australian wagyu ribeye (RM150) is the popular order, and the Argentine beef Wellington (from RM300) is the dish for a group. Ribeyes and tenderloins come with a choice of sides, and there are lamb chops, seafood and fish and chips for those who want something else.
Suits families, birthday dinners and a weeknight steak without a big bill. The Bangsar branch on Jalan Maarof opens all day, every day. Other branches are at Suria KLCC and Sunway, with the original in Ipoh.
