Bistecca occupies a heritage shophouse on Mohamed Sultan Road, between Robertson Quay and River Valley. The setting is intimate and atmospheric, and the menu pairs Tuscan sharing steaks with Italian antipasti, pasta and organic vegetables.
The reason to come is the bistecca alla Fiorentina, a thick T-bone of Australian F1 wagyu from the King and Kiewa Valleys, grilled over wood and carved at the table; Seth Lui lists the 900g cut at S$198, and a 1.1kg Fiorentina feeds three. Ribeye, striploin and tenderloin are available for those not sharing, and sides include mac and cheese and grilled broccolini.
A dependable date-night or small-group choice, with a set lunch from S$52 per person from Tuesday to Sunday. Bookings open two weeks ahead and the Fiorentina should be shared between at least two. Takeaway steaks can be collected in the early evening, and private dining is available.
