WAKANUI is a Japanese-run grill dining brand that brought its New Zealand beef and lamb concept to Marina One, in the Downtown business district between Tanjong Pagar and Marina Bay. It is operated by 1855 F&B, linked to the 1855 The Bottle Shop wine retailer, and the wine list is built to match the grill.
The signature is Ocean Beef, Angus raised on grass in New Zealand's South Island and finished on barley at Wakanui on the Canterbury Plains. The bone-in ribeye is dry-aged for a further three weeks in the restaurant's own room, while the dinner menu offers a 200g Ocean Beef ribeye cut at S$64 (300g S$84), a grass-fed fillet and Toriyama A4 wagyu from Gunma at S$116 for 120g. Everything is grilled over Japanese binchotan, and most tables start with a spring lamb chop.
Convenient for Marina Bay office workers, with a weekday set lunch built around the same cuts. Weekends are dinner only. Bookings by phone, email or WhatsApp.
