Singapore's CBD and the shophouse streets of Tanjong Pagar and Chinatown hold a dense mix of steak bars, bistros and chop houses. Club Street, Amoy Street, Telok Ayer and Ann Siang Road are all within reach of the offices, and business dinners are a big part of the trade.
54° Steakhouse on Amoy Street grills Angus and wagyu over ironbark and binchotan. Luke's Oyster Bar & Chop House on Gemmill Lane is Michelin Selected, and Bochinche on Club Street cooks asado-style over jarrah wood. WAKANUI Grill Dining at Marina One grills Ocean Beef over binchotan, and Les Bouchons has served steak frites on Ann Siang Road since 2002.
Book ahead for weekday dinners. Picanhas' on Club Street is Muslim-owned and pork-free, and ASAP & Co at Far East Square is Muslim-owned, though neither is listed as halal-certified. Prices run from The Feather Blade, under US$25 for a main steak, to fine dining at Luke's.
