Don Asado brings Argentine asado to the quiet Yen Akat neighbourhood between Sathorn and Rama III. The restaurant is built around a large custom parrilla fuelled by eucalyptus wood, and the smell of the fire sets the tone for a relaxed, meat-focused evening.
Time Out's pick is the Mayura picanha, the rump cap cut from full-blood Australian wagyu raised at Mayura Station, where cattle are famously fed a diet that includes chocolate. Picanha suits the parrilla well, as the fat cap renders over the wood and crisps the edge. The rest of the menu is not published online, so ask staff which other asado cuts are on the parrilla that night.
It is a good choice for friends who want grilled beef without hotel formality. Dinner runs Tuesday to Sunday from 5.30pm, with lunch added from Friday to Sunday; it is closed on Mondays. Updates are posted on the restaurant's Facebook page. The area is a taxi ride from BTS Chong Nonsi.
