Steak Go Where

Bangkok

Bangkok's steak scene is shaped by its hotels, with grill rooms that have run for decades beside international chophouse brands and newer independent grills along Sukhumvit and Thonglor. High-floor and rooftop dining is a feature, and imported Australian, US and Japanese beef fills most menus.

Rib Room & Bar Steakhouse at The Landmark has served tableside flambés on the 31st floor since the late 1980s. New York Steakhouse at the JW Marriott is Michelin Selected and known for its spice-rubbed wagyu tomahawk. Lawry's The Prime Rib Bangkok carves US prime rib at Gaysorn Amarin, and Artur on Soi Ton Son makes beef tartare at the table.

Book ahead for hotel grill rooms and rooftop tables, especially at weekends. Most hotel steakhouses sit in the upscale or fine-dining bands, from US$50 per person for a main steak. André, a French bistro off Charoen Krung, and Don Asado in Yen Akat sit outside the two mapped areas and are listed city-wide.
