Steak Go Where

Siam, Ploenchit & Ari

Siam, Ploenchit and Ari make up Bangkok's luxury hotel quarter for steak, with grill rooms at the Waldorf Astoria, Park Hyatt, Anantara Siam and InterContinental around Ratchadamri and Ploenchit. Expect high floors, long wine lists and tableside service, plus a long-running French steak room on Soi Ton Son.

Bull & Bear grills over eucalyptus and hardwood charcoal on the Waldorf Astoria's 55th floor. Penthouse Bar + Grill spans three rooftop storeys at the Park Hyatt, and Fireplace Grill and Bar has run at the InterContinental since 1966. Wolfgang's Steakhouse Bangkok dry-ages in house at One Bangkok, and Artur on Soi Ton Son is known for côte de boeuf.

Book ahead for hotel rooms, especially rooftop tables. Bull & Bear and Wolfgang's are fine dining, over US$100 per person for a main steak; the rest are upscale, at US$50–100. Lawry's The Prime Rib Bangkok at Gaysorn Amarin suits families.
