The District Grill Room & Bar takes its cue from New York's Meatpacking District, with an open kitchen and a bar that suits a drink before dinner. It sits inside the Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit at Soi 57, between Thonglor and Ekkamai, and draws hotel guests as well as locals.
Steaks are Australian, and the Diamantina Angus ribeye is the cut diners single out. Earlier reviews describe Queensland beef cooked over a grill in the open kitchen, alongside classic sides and sauces. Lobster bisque is a regular starter, the District seafood tower is built for sharing, and oxtail open lasagna and European seabass give non-steak eaters options. The flourless chocolate cake has long been the dessert of note.
It is a dependable choice for a relaxed hotel dinner or a weekday business lunch, with lunch served daily and dinner until 11pm. Private dining is available. Book through Chope or the hotel; the nearest BTS station is Thong Lo.
