AGE is the steakhouse at Anantara Layan Phuket Resort, on the quiet Layan Beach cove north of Bang Tao. Italian chef Nicola Pandolfo Testino runs the kitchen, and sommelier Tong-Teehphob Prognsantia pairs each cut from a 350-label cellar. Time Out notes the steampunk-style wine openers in the dining room.
The focus is dry-aged beef cooked in a Josper charcoal oven for a smoky crust. The August 2026 menu lists grain-fed Black Angus and Australian wagyu rib eye (300g), 2GR premium wagyu rib eye and striploin, Hereford, Angus and wagyu tenderloin, and Nagasaki A5 striploin. For two or more there is a 1.2kg Australian Angus tomahawk, a 1.2kg prime rib and a 1.2kg Rangers Valley T-bone, plus a 600g chateaubriand. Angus beef tartare and duck carpaccio open the meal.
Best for a slow dinner where the wine matters as much as the steak. It opens daily from 6.30pm to 10.30pm, and steak prices carry 10% service charge plus tax. Larger cuts suit two or three diners, so book ahead and say if you plan to share.
