Steak Go Where

Mid-Range

Mid-range steakhouses are where most regular steak dinners happen: bistros, Argentine grills, churrascarias and neighbourhood steakhouses with good beef and fewer formalities. Many cook over charcoal or wood and focus on a short list of cuts done well.

Meadesmoore on Telok Ayer charcoal-grills lesser-known cuts from small producers, and Fat Belly at Serene Centre focuses on flat iron, onglet and Denver. Don Pedro in Sai Ying Pun pairs dry-aged Argentine Angus with an all-Malbec list. Uma Garden in Umalas cooks Black Angus over open wood fire by candlelight, and El Toro Steakhouse & Churrascaria in Asoke carves churrasco at the table.

Mid-range means about US$25–50 per person for a main sirloin or ribeye before drinks; sharing platters and wagyu cost more. For halal diners, Charr'd Steakhouse in Singapore is halal-certified, and Picanhas' and Churrasco Phuket are pork-free.
