Steak Go Where

Family-Friendly

Family-friendly steakhouses suit mixed ages and bigger tables: relaxed rooms, set menus, carving trolleys and rodízio service that keeps everyone fed. Some have run for decades, and a few also cater to halal or pork-free diners.

Lawry's The Prime Rib carves prime rib from silver carts in Singapore, Hong Kong and Jakarta, as does Lawry's The Prime Rib Bangkok at Gaysorn Amarin. Braza Churrascaria in Lan Kwai Fong and Tucano's Churrascaria in Jakarta serve rodízio-style meats carved at the table. Maria's SteakCafe in Kuala Lumpur is family-run, and Origin Grill at Shangri-La Singapore cooks over ironbark wood and charcoal.

Charr'd Steakhouse in Singapore is halal-certified, while Picanhas' in Singapore and Churrasco Phuket are pork-free. Book ahead for weekend meals and larger groups, and ask whether set menus come in smaller portions for children.
